UEW withholds certificates of 300 students - They breached congregation rules

About 300 graduating students of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have had their certificates withheld for three months because they disregarded the rules of congregation of the university.

UEW Supports 2017 Farmers Day Celebration

As part of its social responsibilities, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has donated farming items to the Effutu Municipal Assembly (EMA) in support of the 33rd Farmers Day Celebration.

The items included;

  • 13 pieces of knapsack sprayer
  • 17 pairs of Wellington boots
  • 90 pieces of cutlasses
  • 5 boxes of fishhooks.

The presentation of the items took place at the EMA office at Low Cost in Winneba on Wednesday 29th November, 2017.

“Pay taxes with no resentment” – Rev. Fr. Professor Afful-Broni

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Rev. Fr. Professor Anthony Afful-Broni has urged graduands of the 1st Session of the 22nd Congregation to be responsible employers or employees and pay their taxes duly.

He described the graduands as the future leaders in the various important fields needed for the nation’s holistic development and progress. He therefore encouraged everyone to make meaningful contributions to Ghana’s development agenda.

UEW Winneba and Ajumako Campuses hold 22nd Congregation

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) from Wednesday 22nd November to Saturday 25th November, 2017 hosted the 1st Session of the 22nd Congregation at the Winneba Campus.

The ceremony witnessed the conferment of degrees, diplomas and certificate for 4,882 graduands from eight Faculties solely from Winneba and Ajumako Campuses at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre.

UEW to Graduate 8,194 Students at 22nd Congregation

A total of 8,194 students are expected to receive certificates, diplomas and degrees from the various campuses of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) at the institution’s 22nd Congregation.

The categorisation of the awards includes 609 post-graduate degrees representing 7%; 6,846 Bachelor’s degrees representing 84%; 685 diplomas representing 8% and 54 certificates representing I%.    

The 22nd Congregation would be a week-long ceremony starting from 22nd November to 30th November, 2017.

COLTEK PREPARES FOR WATERTIGHT EXAMINATIONS

With examinations for the first semester of the 2017/2018 academic year, just a couple of weeks away, the Department of Academic Affairs (DAA) at the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has moved into full swing preparations to guarantee a smooth and flawless process. Last Friday, November 17, 2017, it held a workshop and training for all academic and non-academic staff (National Service Personnel inclusive) at COLTEK to prepare them on the respective roles they might play in the cause of the examinations.

Focus on improving MIS for students’ comfort – Dr. Ofori-Birikorang urges Registrar

The Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Communication, Dr. Andrews Ofori-Birikorang, has urged the Registrar, Surv. Paul Osei Barima Esq to focus on improving the Management Information System (MIS) of Administrators, Academic Heads and Students for easy accessibility of academic information and records.

He said that every position contained assets and liabilities; adding that one of the key areas for the Registrar to work on was the MIS. He however challenged the Registrar to leave a good legacy behind concerning the MIS.
