A team of University of Education, Winneba (UEW) staff made up of Dr. Edmond A. Agyeman (Centre for African Studies/School of Business), Dr. Emmanuel M. Tamanja (IERIS) and Dr. Bernard B. B. Bingab (School of Business), have won a research grant worth US$30,000.00 from CODESRIA to conduct research on university governance and community relations in some selected public Universities in Ghana.
The University of Education, Winneba on Sunday, 3rd December, 2017 inducted its newly appointed Registrar, Surveyor Paul Osei-Barima (Esq) into office at a thanksgiving ceremony held at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre.
The ceremony saw the presence of the Ag. Vice-Chancellor of UEW, the Clergy, family members of the Registrar, staff and students of UEW.
A total of 2,989 people from the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) of the University of Education Winneba (UEW), have graduated with a charge to commit themselves to creating jobs rather than merely going to add to the numbers of disgruntled graduate unemployed in the country.

UEW withholds certificates of 300 students - They breached congregation rules
About 300 graduating students of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have had their certificates withheld for three months because they disregarded the rules of congregation of the university.
For their tireless efforts that brought much honour to the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) and for that matter, the University of Education Winneba (UEW), three graduating students from the Faculty of Business Education (FBE), were given special mention and due recognition during the First Session of the 22ND Congregation of UEW, last Wednesday in Kumasi.
UEW Supports 2017 Farmers Day Celebration
As part of its social responsibilities, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has donated farming items to the Effutu Municipal Assembly (EMA) in support of the 33rd Farmers Day Celebration.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Rev. Fr. Professor Anthony Afful-Broni has urged graduands of the 1st Session of the 22nd Congregation to be responsible employers or employees and pay their taxes duly.
He described the graduands as the future leaders in the various important fields needed for the nation’s holistic development and progress. He therefore encouraged everyone to make meaningful contributions to Ghana’s development agenda.
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) from Wednesday 22nd November to Saturday 25th November, 2017 hosted the 1st Session of the 22nd Congregation at the Winneba Campus.
The ceremony witnessed the conferment of degrees, diplomas and certificate for 4,882 graduands from eight Faculties solely from Winneba and Ajumako Campuses at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, Rev. Fr. Professor Anthony Afful-Broni, has indicated that the University has been giving the financial clearance to employ 121 staff by the close of the year 2017 to facilitate teaching and learning in the University.
