COLTEK SRC Organises Special Parade to Herald 2018 Week Celebrations

The College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) on April 4, 2018 witnessed an excellent display by the College Cadet Corps as the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) there organised a special parade to herald this year’s SRC Week celebrations. The Military Cadet Corps turned-out smartly in their dominant red and black ceremonial uniforms and treated members of the College Community to some delightful slow and quick precision-marching and riffle displays. The College Band was also in attendance to spice up the event with some patriotic songs.

135 Students Benefit from Maiden Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Fund

A total of 135 out of 452 applicants qualified for the maiden Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Fund (VCSF) for brilliant but needy students.

The Scholarship Scheme was launched in 2016 to provide financial support to students of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), from low-income background to create an opportunity for them to have access to higher education.

“Performing Arts is the Face of Every Nation” – PATAG President

The President of the Performing Arts Teachers Association of Ghana (PATAG), Mr. Johnson Edu has called on the government and stakeholders to invest in Performing Arts to aid national growth.  

He said Michael Jackson became a hit in the US because America considered Performing Arts as the face of the nation. He added that “let us create a course that will be enviable to the whole nation since our field is the face of every nation”.

Faculty of Social Sciences Education Presented Awards for Placing 2nd in the Maiden NCCE Inter-University Civic Challenge.

The students of the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSSE); History, Political Science and Social Studies Departments of the University of Education, Winneba, came second among sixteen other Universities after a tough quiz climaxed with a Debate on Wednesday, 28th February, 2018 at the University of Ghana School of Law Auditorium.

Ghana National Service Scheme Holds Pre-Service Orientation for UEW Final Year Students

The Ghana National Service Scheme (GNSS) on Tuesday, 20th March, 2018, organised a Pre-Service Orientation programme for final year students of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW). The programme which took place at the Jophus Anamoah-Mensah Conference Centre at the North Campus of UEW, Winneba comprised of both morning and afternoon sessions.

COLTEK’S Final Year Students Undergo Pre-NSS Orientation

All final year students of the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) have undergone a day’s orientation that sought to educate them on the rudiments necessary for the year-long mandatory National Service Programme upon completion of their respective programmes.

The pre-service preparatory event was made possible through the collaboration of COLTEK’s Office of the Vice-Dean of Student Affairs, the Department of Academic Affairs and the Ashanti Regional Directorate of the National Service Secretariat (NSS).

UEW Holds Orientation for New Medical Officers

On 19th March, 2018, an orientation to brief and usher three new Medical Officers into the health system of the University of Education, Winneba was organized by the Directorate of University Health Services.

The orientation exposed the Medical Officers to the guiding regulations, policies, and basic information needed to aid in smoothly carrying out their official duties as College Medical Officers.
