“We’re well Positioned to Partner Appalachian State University” – Ag. Vice-Chancellor

The Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni says that the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is well positioned to work with Appalachian State University.   

He said UEW has equipped itself with the needed structures, to accommodate and provide quality teaching and learning services to staff and students of Appalachian State University should the two institutions agree to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to regulate their relationship.

Fashion Students Exhibit their Self-employable Skills in Facial Make Up and Nail Art

The fashion and textiles students of the Winneba Campus of the University of Education, Winneba have demonstrated their readiness to be self-employed in the multi-million body art industry. They display their facial make up artistic skills, pedicure and manicure treatments on their models who posed as brides.

UEW Signs MoU with SISCO

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Somuah Information Systems Company Limited (SISCO) on Software License Subscription and Maintenance Agreement.

This is to strengthen the working relationship between the two parties and also help UEW develop its operations with regards to financial administration.

COLTEK Lecturer Authors 128 Books in Three Years

Authoring over 100 books in just three years might come to many as a far-fetched phenomenon but a Lecturer at the Faculty of Business Education (FBE), Kumasi Campus, of the University of Education Winneba (UEW) has achieved this feat.

Rev. Dr Simon Gyasi Nimako, Chaplain at the Kumasi Campus, broke his back from the year, 2015 to December 2017 to produce a total of 128 Christian books; a feat he ascribes mainly to God’s inspiration and enablement.

UEW Cultural Troupe Dazzles on its Campuses

The outstanding performance by the University of Education Winneba (UEW) Cultural Troupe is without a doubt one of the memorable moments of the just ended Second Session of the 22nd Congregation of the University.

For the first time in its 13-year existence, the Troupe was granted one of its much sort after opportunities to perform at each of the graduation ceremonies organised at the University’s several campuses – Winneba, Kumasi and Asante Mampong.

UEW Supports 2018 Aboakyer Festival

As part of its social responsibility, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has supported this year’s Aboakyer festival celebration with money and assorted drinks.

The presentation of the items was made on Wednesday, 2nd May, 2018 at the residence of the Omanhene of Effutu Traditional Area, Neenyi Ghartey VII. 

The Registrar, Surv. Paul Osei-Barima Esq recounted that as the community celebrates its festival, this donation will supplement the drinks offered to visitors during the festivities.

Acting Head of Department of Graphic Design attends FITC-Design Conference in Amsterdam

The Acting Head of Department of Graphic Design, Dr. Ebenezer Acquah attended a Design Conference at Amsterdam and visited the Department of Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD) at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in Netherlands from February 18, 2018 to March 3, 2018.

At CMD, Dr Acquah interacted with faculty members and students and initiated a discussion to foster collaboration between CMD and the Department of Graphic Design, University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

Late Prof. Reynolds Okai to go Home on May 27

A six-member delegation from the family of the late Prof. Reynolds Okai (Principal, College of Technology Education, Kumasi) has officially announced Sunday, 27th May, 2018 as the day of burial for the deceased.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, 2nd May, 2018 at the Council Chamber, North Campus, Winneba when a six-member delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

Fulbright Scholar Donates Learning Materials to Department of Special Education

 A benefactor of the 2017/2018 Fulbright Scholarship Program at the Special Education Department, Professor Tiece Ruffin has donated 79 books and some reading pens to the Department and its Reading Resource Centre. The presentation took place at the office of the Head of Department of Special Education at 9:00am on Friday, 13th April 2018.

This donation will help the Department, the Faculty of Educational Studies, and the Effutu Municipality achieve its aim of helping students with special needs achieve their goal and aspirations.
