UEW to Establish a Campus at Atekyedo – Finance Officer

The Head of Finance, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Dr. Theophilus Senyo Ackorlie, has announced the university's intention to replace its former campuses in Kumasi and Mampong with a full-fledged campus at Atekyedo, a suburb of Winneba.

According to him, the new campus would feature all the facilities of a university, such as accommodation for the students, lecture halls, offices, faculties or schools, a principal, college registrar among others.

Creative Arts Policy: UEW Lecturers Urged to Produce Ingenious Research to Add Value

The Director of Quality Assurance, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Emmanuel Obed Acquah, has challenged creative arts academics to produce insightful indigenous research to advance the country's development efforts through the creative arts sector.

SCA Holds Maiden Creative Arts Conference

The School of Creative Arts (SCA), in collaboration with the Centre for Research, Culture, and Creative Arts, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has organised its maiden Creative Arts Conference. YOTOFEST Delegation Calls on UEW Vice-Chancellor

A delegation from the 2022 Youth in Tourism Festival (YOTOFEST), a partnership between the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Sanitation Taskforce, the Tourism Society of Ghana, and SHAPE Attitude Ghana has met with Prof. Mawutor Avoke, Vice-Chancellor of UEW, to discuss plans for the 2022 YOTOFEST.

The Centre for International Programmes (CIP) and the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs (ODSA) have held a day’s Intensive Pre-Academic Orientation Programme (IPOP) for 25 international students from the University of Derby, United Kingdom and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway.

10th FASU Games: UEW Contingents Present 3rd Place Trophy to Vice-Chancellor

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) contingent at the just ended 10th Federation of African University Sports (FASU) Games, held at Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya, has presented the third-place trophy won at the games to the Vice-Chancellor, UEW, Prof. Mawutor Avoke.

UEW Places 3rd at 2022 FASU Games

The University of Education, Winneba placed third out of the 43 participating universities at the just ended 10th Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) Games held at the Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya.

They bagged 23 medals made up of eight gold, 10 silver and five bronze to become the highest-ranked Ghanaian university at this year’s Games.

SPED Reading Resource Centre Donates to Patrons

The Special Education Reading Resource Centre under the Department of Special Education (SPED), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has donated assorted children’s clothing, story books and school supplies to support basic school pupils who use the Centre.

The clothes were sponsored by a philanthropist, Dr. Hannah Acquaye; books by Campaign for Learning Differences (CLED), Ghana; and school supplies by Mrs. Florence Akua Mensah.

CIP and UCN Lecturers Interact with Department of Theatre Arts

Lecturers from the University College of Northern Denmark (UCN) have visited the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), to learn about some Ghanaian indigenous dances and practices.

The visit was part of the International Fellows Week celebration organised by the Centre for International Programmes (CIP), UEW in collaboration with the UCN.

20th Anniversary Celebration of UEW Basic Education Department Launched

The Department of Basic Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Friday, 10^th June, 2022, launched its 20^th Anniversary celebration at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba.

The event, which was spiced up with cultural and artistic presentations by students from the School of Creative Arts and the Department of Basic Education, was under the theme, "Rediscovering the Quintessence of Education: The Role of Basic Education Delivery in Ghana".
