The Software and Talent Exhibition Contest was a scheduled activity as part of the INFOCTESS (Information and Communication Technology Students' Society) Week Celebration held on 5th April, 2017 at the Main Computer Laboratory of the Department of ICT Education. The purpose of the event was to encourage students to showcase their innovative ideas and build on their talents in the ICT field. There were five contestants in the exhibition.

The Association of History Students has been awarded as the best club in the University for 2016/2017 Academic year at the NUGS Excellence Awards Ceremony.
The Association was established in 2013 with the objective to create a common forum for the students and teachers of history to actively participate in the decision making structures of the Department and to ensure that the challenges,grievances and needs of students are met.The association also organises occasional workshops,exhibitions,competitions,annual get- togethers and also promote professional ethics among members.
The Students Association of Department of Political Science Education has organised a seminar to commemorate its departmental week celebration. The celebration which was held on 23rd March, 2017 was on the theme" Tertiary Education and Job Opportunities."
Two presenters, Dr. Emmanuel Carsamer and E.T. Amanor-Lartey spoke on the theme for the celebration.
The Vodafone Ghana Foundation in partnership with the Gender Mainstreaming Directorate of the University of Education, Winneba has awarded scholarships to 10 Female Students pursueing various Science, Mathematics and Technology related programmes in UEW.
The Ceremony was held on 25th April, 2017 and witnessed by Staff of the Gender Mainstreaming Directorate, Vodafone Ghana Foundation, British Council, Heads of Departments and other Staff of UEW.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mawutor Avoke on Friday, 31st March, 2017 paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to officially introduce himself as the new head of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).
The UEW branch of the International Literacy Association (ILA) was launched at the University of Education, Winneba on 6th April, 2017.
The Division of Human Resources in collaboration with the Winneba Study Centre of the Institute of Educational Development and Extension (I.E.D.E) organized a workshop for part-time lecturers on the 23rd of March 2017 at the Registrar's Conference Room at the North Campus on the theme “Tutorials in the 21st Century.”
Facilitators for the workshop were Messrs. David Kofi Sekyi (a part-time lecturer, Educational Technology) and Humphrey A.K. Pufaa (Instructional Technologist, Student Records Office).
The Department of Geography Education has embarked on a series of educational trips as part of their courses of study in the 2016/17 academic year. The trips were organised to deepen the understanding of students on issues discussed in class and to help students acquire practical experience of their courses pursued.
