Crestfallen hearts, unrestrained sobs and intermittent shaking of heads in utter shock and in apparent show of disbelief were the dispositions of many a staff who attended an emergency general meeting at the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) on February 21, 2018 to officially break news of the passing of the Principal of the College, Prof. (Ing.) Reynolds Okai and also apprise staff of subsequent developments.

A two day workshop on effective filing and office management was held on the 12th -14th February, 2018 for Administrative and Clerical Staff of University of Education, Winneba. The workshop, which brought together Administrators and Clerks of various Faculties, Departments, Divisions and all recognised offices in the Institution was aimed at informing, educating and introducing the participants to contemporary advanced filling systems and Office Management.

The Centre for International Programmes (CIP) in collaboration with Student Affairs of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has organized an Intensive Pre-Orientation Programme (IPOP) for students from the University College Capital of Copenhagen, Denmark on Teaching Practice at University of Education, Winneba.
The orientation was held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Registrar’s Conference Room, North Campus at Winneba.
On Wednesday 31st January, 2018, officials of the John Agyekum Kufuor (JAK) Foundation paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni and some Academic Heads at the Council Chamber, North Campus.
The visit discussed how best the Foundation could collaborate with the University in the area of leadership. Besides, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is the first tertiary institution in Ghana to experience this collaboration.
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has held matriculation ceremonies for the 2017/2018 Distance Education students for all the Study Centres at all their various matriculation venues; Winneba, Kumasi, Ho and Tamale.
Some Southern Sector students had theirs at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, Winneba whereas students from Asante Mampong and Kumasi also had their matriculation at the Ceremonial Grounds at Kumasi Campus. Students who stay at far places also had their matriculation at Ho and Tamale.
Distance Education students of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) no longer have an obligation to acquire the UEW branded e-tablets made to facilitate their learning.
Senior Staff at the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) of the University of Education Winneba (UEW) have undergone a day’s training on effective Customer Service delivery as part of the University’s efforts to ensure its rank and file is always ready to offer excellent service to clients.
The Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has donated two desktop computers to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Winneba on Tuesday 24th January, 2018. The donation was done on behalf of the Management of the University by Mr. Steve van Kamassah, Deputy Registrar for the Division of Publications and Communication.
According to Mr. Kamassah, this directive was carried out due to a request from the GNFS asking for support from the University to help make their work easier.
