15 Retire from Kumasi Campus of UEW

The Management of the College of Technology Education (COLTEK), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), on Friday, 25th September, 2020, treated 15 workers to a farewell party ahead of their retirement from the service of the University, on 30th September, 2020.

The retirees, comprised five Senior Members, three Senior Staff, and seven Junior Staff. Each of whom was given a package worth more than GH₵ 6,000.00, a citation in recognition of their respective contributions to the University’s development, and a certificate of honour.

Registrars’ Welfare Honours two Retirees

The Registrars’ Welfare Committee on Wednesday, 30th September, 2020, honoured two of its members who retired from active service this year at the Registrar’s Conference Room, North Campus, Winneba. 

The two retirees namely; Ms. Felicia Takrama and Mr. Emmanuel Asafo served the University for 16 and 24 years respectively. They were honoured with beautifully wrapped parcels to acknowledge their outstanding services to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

HR Organises a Fitting Send-off Party for 2020 Retirees

The Division of Human Resource (HR) on Thursday, 24th September, 2020, held a befitting send-off party for 30 retirees of the Winneba and Ajumako campuses of the University at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre (JAMCC) car park, North Campus, Winneba.  

The 30 retirees constituted 14 senior members, seven senior staff, and nine junior staff. The ceremony which is usually held at the SEMSA Club House was relocated to the JAMCC car park to enable the apt observation of physical distancing as part of the COVID-19 safety protocols.

UEW Ready to Partner Casa de Ropa

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has expressed their enthusiasm to partner, Casa de Ropa Ghana Limited, a Ghanaian limited liability company at Gomoa Bewadze, near Winneba to strengthen the industry-academia relationship.

Casa de Ropa with a 300-acre potato processing factory focuses on farming, food processing, and consultancy to improve production knowledge and technology, value addition, and marketing innovations to the benefit of all actors in the value chain.

Dr. Anthony Musah Donates to CoLANGE

A Lecturer at the Department of Gur-Gonja Education, Dr. Anthony Agoswin Musah has donated a set of ICT equipment to the College of Languages Education (CoLANGE), Ajumako Campus of the University of Education, Winneba. 

This adds to an earlier collection of books he donated to the College when he assumed duty in 2018. The items donated include an HP Laptop, HP colour printer, Lenova Desktop Computer, two-computer hard drives, and other peripheries.

UEW Matriculates 2,611 Sandwich Students for 2019/2020 Academic Year

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Friday, 11th September, 2020, held a virtual matriculation ceremony for 2,611 sandwich students for the 2019/2020 academic year. 

The virtual matriculation, which took place at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba, was as a result of restrictions imposed to mitigate the debilitating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Management Augments Physical Infrastructure at Asante-Mampong and Kumasi Campuses

The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has revealed that his administration is making all efforts to bridge the physical infrastructural gap at the Asante-Mampong and Kumasi campuses of the University to ease the burden of inadequate lecture rooms. 

According to the Vice-chancellor, the two campuses are on the verge of introducing new market-driven academic programmes to meet the changing needs of prospective students and the labour market; hence, the construction of various projects across the two Colleges.

UEW Holds Maiden Virtual Congregation Successfully

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has today, Thursday, 10th September, 2020, successfully held its maiden first session of the 25th Congregation by virtual mode.

The ceremony being the first of its kind blew people’s mind with a colourful stage setup, powerful lighting systems, innovative artworks and excellent deployment of technology under the direction of the planning committee.

UEW Adequately Prepared to Receive Pioneer Free SHS Graduates

Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has assured the nation that the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has expanded and improved its infrastructure to admit as many qualified Ghanaians as possible from the free Senior High School (SHS) graduates into the University.   

He indicated that the University was extremely happy and proud of its ability to be associated with the excellent project of His Excellency the President and his government with regard to the free SHS policy.
