UEW Ranked 2nd Best Communications and Public Relations University in Ghana

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is Ghana's second-best communications and public relations university, according to EduRank, an independent metric-based rating organisation, in their 2023 ranking.

The university was pipped to the top spot by the University of Ghana, Legon. Additionally, UEW placed 20th in Africa and 717th in the world. Check   https://edurank.org/liberal-arts/communications/af/

1. WASSCE Holders

Applicant must have Credit passes (A1-D7) in Three (3) Core Subjects comprising English Language and Mathematics, and (A1-C6) in Three (3) Elective Subjects relevant to the programme of interest.

EXCEPT DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION WHERE AN APPLICANT MUST POSSESS AT LEAST A DIPLOMA OR HND IN A SPECIFIC AREA OF STUDY.

2. SSSCE/ ABCE/GBCE Holders

H. E. Akufo-Addo Charges UEW to Continue Producing Resourceful Graduates

The President of Ghana, His Excellency (H. E.) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has charged the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to continue producing graduates who are ready to take on opportunities and prospects for higher achievements.

He said that doing this through innovation and creativity in today’s science-technology-led and knowledge-driven global economy would help generate prosperity for the masses.

UEW Council Chairman Pledges Support to New Chancellor

The Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Nana Ofori Ansah I, has assured the new Chancellor of the University, Neenyi Ghartey VII, of the Council’s support towards the strive for the growth of UEW.

He stated that the Council will provide the Chancellor with the necessary support so that they may collaborate to accomplish the shared objective of the university.

UEW Inducts Neenyi Ghartey VII into Office as 2nd Chancellor

Neenyi Ghartey VII, the Paramount Chief of the Effutu Traditional Council, has been invested and inducted into office as the second Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, was the special guest of honour at the event, which took place on 21st April, 2023, at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, UEW.

Neenyi Ghartey VII succeeds Alhaji Asoma Abu Banda, who served in that capacity from 2010 to 2015.

Republic Bank Explores Partnership Opportunities at UEW

The Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has received a 17-member high-powered delegation from the Republic Bank PLC to discuss potential collaboration options.

The meeting, which took place at the Council Chamber, North Campus, UEW, attracted Directors of Republic Bank PLC, who were on campus to fortify relations between the two organisations and to explore possibilities in several areas, including infrastructure development, the provision of specialised training for industry-related personnel, and many others.

Legal Education Policy in Ghana: New Wine in Old Wineskins?

The reconfiguration of politics, post 1945, has steadily expanded the role of the state beyond a ‘watchman’ to more active engagement with citizens, institutions and the economy within legal-rational systems of governance. Law governs everything including the state itself. Therefore, a solid grounding in law through legal education and training has become a sine qua non to ensure the fulfilment of the expanded role of the state, which now includes managing an economy, global competition, provision of education, and others.
