UEW Business School Organises Maiden Seminar for Graduate Students

The School of Business, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has held a maiden seminar for its graduate students at the Amu Theatre, Central Campus, Winneba. 

The seminar was under the theme “Career Development and Mentorship for Graduate Students”. Participants were equipped with strategic learning and researching approaches, academic integrity, and the effective use of library resources to support learning and research.

UEW-FSSE Holds 6th Biennial Social Science Conference

The Faculty of Social Science Education (FSSE), University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has held its 6th Biennial Social Science Conference under the theme, “Bringing the Gown to Town: Reflections on Africa’s Development in the Face of Pandemics”. 

The two-day event took place at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba on Wednesday, 20th and Thursday, 21st July, 2022.

UEW Hosts Annual Youth in Tourism Festival

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has hosted the Annual Youth in Tourism Festival (YOTOFEST). The event was under the theme “The youth, Tourism, and Sanitation”. 

The festival, which was held at the Jophus Anamuah Conference Centre on the North Campus of Winneba, aimed to enhance the problem-solving abilities of the youth to ensure their active involvement in the achievement of sustainable development targets by the year 2030 as well as empower younger generations to initiate more sustainable tourism opportunities.

FFLE Holds a One-day Faculty Workshop

The Faculty of Foreign Languages Education (FFLE), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has organised a one-day workshop for its faculty members at the School of Creative Arts Conference Room, Central Campus, Winneba.

The workshop, under the theme, "Effective Supervision: The Role of the Supervisor," sought to sharpen supervisors' skills in supervision, highlight some important practicalities of supervision, and walk them through time-saving and stress-reduction strategies so they can better serve their students.

Registration of Course Offerings on ITS ERP for the 2021/2022 2nd Semester

All regular students of the University of Education, Winneba are to note that registration of courses online on the UEW ITS ERP will commence on Sunday 24th July, 2022 and end on Sunday, 7th August, 2022.

Students who fail to register would attract appropriate fines and in certain situations may be compelled to defer their programmes of study.

The Department of Agricultural Science Education supports Green Ghana Initiative

The Department of Agricultural Science Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has thrown its weight behind the Green Ghana Initiative in a tree planting exercise carried out on 13th July, 2022.

The Department supported the Green Ghana project, which seeks to plant trees to lower the atmospheric carbon concentrations that fuel climate change. The effort also aims to preserve the ecological balance that exists naturally on Earth so that all living things can live and flourish in their natural habitat.

UEW Eases into Semi-Finals of Tertiary Business Challenge Version 4.0

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), made light work of the Dominion University College to book a ticket to the national semi-finals of the Tertiary Business Sense Challenge Version 4.0.

Team UEW amassed a total of 76 points against the 11 points garnered by Dominion University College at the end of the competition. The University of Education Winneba team comprised Marcus Tetteh Obuadey, Rebecca Baah, and James Nana Ofori.

Impact Workshop by the Department of Special Education, UEW

The Department of Special Education is inviting the University Community to an Impact Workshop which is part of an on-going research project that investigates "the early education for young deaf children and their caregivers in Ghana". The project is a collaboration between the University of Leeds, UK, and the Department of Special Education, Faculty of Education, UEW and is funded by the British Academy's Early Childhood Education Programme, supported under the Global Challenges Research Fund.

UEW Holds Matriculation for 10,136 CODeL Students

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has held a virtual matriculation ceremony for 10,136 College for Distance and e-Learning (CODeL) fresh students for the 2021/2022 academic year. 

The ceremony was held at the Johpus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba on Saturday, July 16, 2022. It was attended in person by fresh students from the Winneba Study Centre and virtually by students from the 41 other study centres.

Celebration of Youth in Tourism Festival 2022

The Sanitation Taskforce of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) under the auspices of the Office of Dean of Student Affairs (ODSA) is collaborating with the Tourism Society of Ghana, Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture, to celebrate the Youth in Tourism Festival (YOTOFEST) 2022 at the UEW. The theme for the celebration is "The Youth, Tourism, and Sanitation".
