UEW Council Chairman Pays Courtesy Calls on Effutu and Ajumako Paramount Chiefs

The Council Chairman of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Nana Ofori Ansah I, with the Management of the University, has paid courtesy calls on the Paramount Chiefs of the Effutu and Ajumako Traditional Councils. 

The visits were intended to introduce Nana Ofori Ansah I, who was accompanied by another government nominee on the Council, Mr. Alex Bonney, a native of Winneba, to the overlords of the Effutu and Ajumako traditional areas, where the campuses of the University are located.

Notice | Applicants of Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Fund – 2021/2022

All continuing students who applied for the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Fund are kindly requested to submit their academic transcripts to the Office of the Registrar.

The transcript should be as at the end of the 2020/2021 academic year.

The deadline for the submission of the transcript is Friday, 25th February, 2022.
All applicants are to comply.

Ghana Scholarships Secretariat (SCHOLSEC) Programme | Disability Support Initiative in Public Institutions

Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection in collaboration with the Ghana Scholarships Secretariat present Government Big Boost in Disability Support Initiative in Public Institutions. The initiative is in line with Ghana seeking to review the current maximum grant support in order to promote education for students with disability across Ghana so as to increase disability enrolment.

UEW and Ohio University Academics Host Dissemination Workshop

A Lecturer in the School of Creative Arts (SCA), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Cosmas W. K. Mereku and his counterpart from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, USA, Prof. Paschal Yao Younge, have organised a dissemination workshop at the SCA Conference Room. 

The goal of the workshop was to allow the researchers to share findings from their 40-day research project on the topic "African Children's Games: Musicality and Creativity in their Natural State" with targeted public stakeholders.

School of Creative Arts Embarks on Academic Retreat

The Departments of Art Education, Graphic Design, and Textiles and Fashion Education under the School of Creative of Arts, University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has held a three-day retreat at the Busua Beach Resort in the Western Region.

The retreat offered the opportunity for the three Departments to fine-tune the Doctor of Philosophy in Art Education programme, review existing programmes for re-accreditation, proposed Design and Digital Media Unit, hold workshop on thesis writing and supervision for faculty members.

Call for Applications | Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship Fund 2021/2022 | Fresh Students Only

Applications are invited from qualified fresh undergraduate students to access the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Fund (VCSF) for brilliant but needy students for the 2021/2022 academic year.

Mode of Submission

Completed application forms should be submitted to the Dean of Faculty or Principal, CODeL latest by Friday, 11th February 2022.

Students on Distance Education programme should submit completed application forms to the Principal of CODeL through their Study Centre Coordinators.

UEW Pursues Collaborative Links with University of Virginia

The Ag. Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Andy Ofori-Birikorang, has called on former Mayor of Charlottesville, Mr. Dave Norris, to assist the University to forge academic collaborations with the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, USA.     

Prof. Ofori-Birikorang revealed UEW is interested in collaborating in the areas of research and other activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) as well as education policy.

UEW Ranked First in Ghana in 2021 UI GreenMetric World University Ranking

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has been named the Most Sustainable University in Ghana and the 893rd Most Sustainable University in the World by the University of Indonesia (UI) GreenMetric World University Rankings for the year 2021.

The ranking is based on six distinct categories: setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation, and education, each with its own weighted indicators.

Deadline for the Payment of Admission fees Extended to 31st January, 2022

Management of the University of Education, Winneba notes that Admission Letters issued to successful applicants indicates 31st December, 2021 as the deadline for the payment of Admission fees.

Successful applicants are however, informed that the said deadline for the payment of Admission fees has been extended to Monday, 31st January, 2022.

All other details, as indicated in the Admission Letters, remain valid.

Issuing of Admission Letters to Successful Applicants

Management of the University of Education, Winneba has observed that some of our applicants for the 2022 admission period, for some unexplained reasons, did not provide valid postal addresses, Email addresses or telephone numbers, which are vital information needed by University to contact our prospective students after the processing of their applications. Hence such applicants are not able to receive their Admission Letters.
