UEW Ready to Implement Teacher Education Reforms

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is fully prepared for the implementation of Teacher Education Reforms and the new four year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) curriculum for the 2019/2020 academic year.

The new curriculum, designed by a team of Faculty Members from UEW, University of Ghana (UG), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and University of Development Studies (UDS) seeks to prepare teachers to improve the learning outcomes of Ghanaian students.

Counselling students of UEW sensitise Effutuman on Juvenile Recidivism

The Department of Psychology and Education of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has appealed to the Government to promote guidance and counselling in all institutions.

Rev. Jonathan Asare, a member of the Guidance and Counselling Group of the Departmment, made the appeal in a 25-page presentation he made at a Guidance Seminar the Group organised on the topic: “Juvenile Recidivism: A Challenge to Nation Building.”

RESEARCH ETHICS POLICY

  1. Introduction

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) research ethics policy shall guide both students and lecturers in conducting research and used to give ethical clearance to staff and students as well as outside researchers who propose to use the University or its staff and students as subject of research.The policy shall be used to investigate any research ethics misconduct.

UEW Working Tirelessly to Introduce Sisaali

The Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) in collaboration with the Sisaala Union is working tirelessly to introduce Sisaali as a subject of study in the Gur-Gonja Department of the University.  

The course, designed to bridge the linguistic gap in the implementation of the National language policy will create an opportunity to students who wish to study Sisaali as a language.

16 International Students Undergo Orientation

The Office of Dean of Student Affairs in collaboration with the Centre for International Programmes (CIP) has organised a day’s orientation for 16 International students. Four  from Europa University Flensburg, Germany; Nine from Oslo Metropolitan University College, Norway; and three from University College Copenhagen, Denmark.

The orientation, held at the Institute for Distance and e-learning (IDeL) Conference Room, North Campus, Winneba was to equip the students with the necessary information to help in their stay in Ghana.
