CoLANGE Observes 2019 IMLD Celebration

The College of Languages Education (CoLANGE), Ajumako of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) in collaboration with the Bureau of Ghana Languages, Accra observed the 2019 International Mother Language Day (IMLD) at the Ceremonial Grounds, Ajumako Campus.

The IMLD, celebrated every year on 21st February, was held under the theme “Indigenous Languages Matter for Development, Peace Building and Reconciliation”. The Day is observed to promote linguistic diversity and multilingual education.

UEW Signs MoU with MUCG

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Methodist University College Ghana (MUCG) to mentor and award  Masters Degrees for Postgraduate Programmes to be run by the latter institution.  

The Programmes are Master of Education in Leadership and Innovation, Master of Education in Management and Practice, Master of Arts in Small Business Management and Master of Arts in Entrepreneurship.

Call for Application - PhD candidates for 3-4 month fellowship tenable at University of Jyvaskyla, Finland

Applications are invited from qualified Ph. D candidates for three to four-month fellowship tenable at the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland.

1. Eligibility

Applicant must:

  • Be academic staff of UEW and must have been confirmed
  • Be on a doctoral programme in UEW in any area relating to Education
  • Have completed at least the second year by June, 2019
  • Have successfully gone through proposal defense.

African Centers of Excellence converge in Djibouti from 18th to 27th February 2019 to strengthen research, development programmes and innovations Djibouti, 14 February 2019. The first Africa Higher Education Centers of Excellence (ACE I) project was launched in Western and Central Africa by the World Bank in 2014 to support higher education sectors specializing in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), agriculture and health. In 2016, the second ACE project (ACE II) was launched in Eastern and Southern Africa.
