UEW Global Alumni Association Congratulates 4th Vice-Chancellor

A six-member delegation of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Alumni Association paid a courtesy call on the fourth Vice-Chancellor of the UEW, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni to congratulate him.

The delegation, led by the Head of Department, Human Resource Management, UEW, Dr. B.B.B. Binghab expressed the goodwill and support of the entire UEW Global Alumni Association on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor to steer the affairs of the University of Excellence for the ensuing years.

Newly Appointed Senior Members Undergo Orientation

Newly appointed Senior Members of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Thursday, 1st November, 2018 underwent a day’s orientation at the Council Chamber, North Campus, Winneba.  

The orientation, organised by the Division of Human Resource (UEW) was to equip and embolden the newly appointed Senior Members in Winneba Campus as Convocation Members and Opinion Leaders of the University as well as people molding the academic character of UEW students.

UEW Supports Akwanbokese Festival

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has donated assorted items to the Chief and members of Ajumakoman Traditional Area towards the Akwanbokese festival of the people of the Ajumako-Anyan-Essiam District of the Central Region.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Management of UEW were Dr. Charles Owu-Ewie, Dean of the Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education and the College Registrar, Mrs. Wilhelmina Tete-Mensah, Ajumako Campus.

Presentation of Draft Corporate Strategic Plan | 2019-2023

The Strategic Plan Development Committee has scheduled stakeholder meetings to solicit feedback from the various sections of the University. Faculties and departments are required to download the draft ‘Plan Matrix’ that has been forwarded to Convocation, UTAG, GAUA and Registrars’ mailing lists for their study. Student Leadership (SRC, DESA, GRASAG) and staff unions (UTAG, GAUA, FUSSAG, TEWU) have also been served with copies of the document. Comments from faculties, departments and other stakeholders will be collated at the meeting.

Department of Early Childhood Education Supports Effutu Municipality Schools

The Department of Early Childhood Education under the Faculty of Educational Studies (UEW) has supported some selected schools in Effutu Municipal Assembly (EMA) with Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs).

The donation which is done annually benefited schools such as Gyangyanadze M/A, Africa Christian Mission Schools, EMA Primary School, Adventist Preparatory School, A.M.E. Zion “D” and Alswel Academy, Winneba.

CHARACTERISATION OF STEM AND BRANCH WOOD OF NESOGORDONIA PAPAVERIFERA AND HOLARRHENA FLORIBUNDA SPECIES FOR STRUCTURAL APPLICATIONS

•Nesogordonia papaverifera is an evergreen tree on base-rich soils and comes from the family sterculiaceae with trade name danta (Hall & Swaine, 1981).

“Students are so Important” – Vice-Chancellor

Students of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have been described as important assets in the University. They were assured of equal rights and fair treatment in the University.  

The assurance was given on Friday, 26th October, 2018 during Management’s meeting with the Student Leadership held at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba. Management admired Students for the key role that they play in the University.
