Political Science Education Holds Workshop for Level 400 Internship Students

The Department of Political Science Education (DPSE) on Tuesday, 11th September, 2018 organised a workshop for level 400 students going on internship this year at the Faculty of Educational Studies Block, North campus, Winneba.

The immediate past Head of Department (HoD), Dr. Gabriel Botchwey stated in his welcome address that, the reason for the workshop was to prepare students to be able to satisfactorily complete the ‘yellow book’ (assessment book) and prepare adequately on the things they would need while on internship.

At the Academic Board meeting of the University of Education, Winneba, held on the 18th of September, 2018, members of the Board, led by Professor Yaw Ameyaw nominated Dr. Faith Ben-Daniels to congratulate the new Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the Board.

H. E. Akufo-Addo Lauds UEW Faculty Members

The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency (H. E.) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has lauded Faculty Members of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) for their contribution in the reformation and transformation of Ghana’s educational status.

The President stated that members of Faculty of the UEW particularly the first Vice-Chancellor of the University played major parts in the social and economic transformation of the nation.

COLTEK Drivers and Mechanics Undergo Refresher Training

Drivers and Mechanics of the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) of the University of Education Winneba (UEW) have undergone refresher training to equip them with the requisite skills and knowledge to further enhance their performance in the University.

The workshop aimed among other things, to equip participants with skills on how to maintain good health, effectively manage the College’s vehicles and improve their attitude towards work generally.

The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has pledged his allegiance to serve diligently the people of Ghana and the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

He expressed awareness that institutions of today, such as the UEW are eager for leaders endowed with innovative ideas to help move the nation Ghana out of poverty through the provision of effective and efficient education delivery process aimed at granting access to as many of its citizens as possible.

Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Fund (VCSF) for Brilliant but Needy Students, 2018/2019 Academic Year

Applications are invited from qualified undergraduate students to access the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Fund (VCSF) for the 2018/2019 academic year. (Please download the attached application form).

Completed applications should be submitted to Deans of Faculty or Director, IDeL latest by 19th October, 2018 who shall act as coordinators of the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Fund (VCSF).

Students on Distance Education programme should submit completed applications to the Director of IDeL through their Coordinators.

“Our Doors are wide open for Further Collaborations…” – Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has noted that the doors of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) are wide open for further collaborations with other German institutions.

He recounted that UEW is currently collaborating with German institutions like the Darmstadt University, University of Hamburg and the Koln University hence the need to partner more especially in the area of education and mutual benefit.
