UNIVERISTY OF EDUCATION,WINNEBA -ETHICS POLICY FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS

  1. Introduction

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) research ethics policy shall guide both students and lecturers in conducting research and used to give ethical clearance to staff and students as well as outside researchers who propose to use the University or its staff and students as subject of research.The policy shall be used to investigate any research ethics misconduct.

The School of Graduate Studies was established in the 1999/2000
academic year to address the academic manpower requirements of
some selected departments.
Before the establishment, however, a Memorandum of Understanding
(MOU) was signed in 1996 between the then University College of
Education, Winneba (UCEW) and the University of New York at Brockport
(SUNY Brockport). The purpose of the MOU was for SUNY Brockport to
assist in upgrading the academic qualifications of staff in the Department

Pre-internship Seminar for the Unit of the Education of Children with Intellectual Disabilities (EID)

The Unit for the Education of Children with Intellectual Disabilities (EID) in the Department of Special Education, University of Education, Winneba, in partnership with five other institutions in Winneba held a six-week practical teaching and industrial attachment programme for the level 300 students in the Unit from March 13-April 24, 2018.

Division of Human Resource Holds Workshop for UEW Drivers

The Division of Human Resource  (UEW) in collaboration with the Transport Section of the University on Wednesday, 20th and Thursday, 21st June, 2018 held a two-day workshop for all drivers of the University at Pecku Conference Room, North Campus, Winneba.  

The event which was organised as part of the Division’s in-service training for staff of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) sought to equip drivers of UEW with the requisite knowledge and also help them improve on their attitude towards work.

Acting Vice-Chancellor and Dean of CIP Represent UEW at 2018 NAFSA Annual Conference in Philadelphia

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni and the Dean of the Centre for International Programmes, Prof. Yaw Sekyi-Baidoo, have represented the University at the 2018 NASFA: Association of International Educators, held in Philadelphia, from May 25 to June 02, 2018 under the theme “Diverse Voices, Shared Commitment,”.

Because the mission of  the UEW (University of Education, Winneba) is to train competent professional teachers for all levels of education, the developer of this animation sees the institution as very essential as water to the nation, Ghana, without which the educational sector in the country will thirst. Division of Publications and Communication Educates Staff on Modern Technological Trends in Communication

The Division of Publications and Communication on Thursday, 7th June, 2018 organised a workshop for staff and national service persons at the ICT Computer Lab, South Campus, Winneba. 

The workshop was on the topic “Technology for Interviewing Live Events and Information Collection (Smart tools for Smart Reportage – The use of Android and IOS for Broadcasting)”.

UEW ICT DIRECTORATE

ICT infrastructure is seen as one of the greatest enablers in modern society and has impacted and changed the world positively. The way teaching, administration and research functions are being carried out in universities has changed dramatically. The University of Education, Winneba’s Directorate of ICT Services is mandated with planning, managing and maintaining all ICT equipment and services to support the core mandate of the University.

UEW to Collaborate with the University of the West of Scotland

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Tuesday, 19th June, 2018 held a meeting at the Council Chamber, North Campus, Winneba with Dr. David L. Ndzi of the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) to discuss possible collaborations between the two institutions.

In his Introductory Remarks, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni said one of the things that were extremely characteristic and analytic of every University was to strive to become global and international.

COLTEK Lecturers Schooled on Use of ICT and Multimedia Tools for Effective Teaching

Lecturers of the College of Technology Education, Kumasi Campus have been schooled on the use of ICT and Multimedia Tools for effective teaching in the University.

The training is held for all teaching staff of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) as part of Management's efforts towards ensuring improved modes and quality of teaching in the University.
