Statement of the Governing Council on Disciplinary Action on Two Senior Members of Convocation

The Governing Council of the University, after discussing two reports presented by the University Disciplinary Board at its meeting held on March 28th, 2018, has, relative to the first report, dismissed Dr. Samuel Ofori Bekoe from the University effective March 28, 2018.  Dr. Samuel Ofori Bekoe, a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Social Studies ceases to be an employee of the University from the said date.

Vacation Music Camp – 2018

The Department of Music Education, University of Education, Winneba is organizing a Vacation Music Camp during this long vacation.

It is an intensive training in Rudiments and Theory of Music combined with practical music-making activities for both adults and Children.

Re-organisation of the School Internship Programme (SIP). The Cluster System

The Academic Board of the University has decided that the current placement for the School Internship Programme (SIP) be replaced with the Cluster System in which students will be put into clusters for teaching, mentoring and supervision purposes. With the new system, mentees will be required to teach in locations of 25km radius of a Cluster centre.

Postponement of Workshop on ICT and Multimedia Tools for Effective Teaching and Learning

The Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD) wish to announce that the above-named workshop scheduled to take place on all campuses from 6th April to 26th April 2018 has been postponed till further notice.

The new date shall be communicated to Faculty members and all concerned.

Application for Fellowship Programme

Applications are invited from qualified PhD candidates for three to four-month fellowship tenable at the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland.

  1. Eligibility

           Applicants must:

  • Be academic staff of UEW, and must have been confirmed
  • Be on a doctoral programme in UEW in any area relating to Education
  • Be in the second or third year in the 2017/18 academic year.
  • Have successfully gone through proposal defence.

Invitation to a Workshop

The Performing Arts Teachers Association of Ghana (PATAG) invites all teachers and interested parties with specific interests in subjects like Drama, Music, Visual Arts, English Literature and Social Studies to a one-day workshop under the topic, ‘The New Curriculum Framework for the Review of Pre-Tertiary Education in Ghana’.

There would be briefing on the whole concept of the review of the National Educational Curriculum Framework for Pre-Tertiary Education in Ghana.
