Programme Description

The programme is designed to train high quality graduates of the Ghanaian Languages who have acquired in-depth knowledge and a very high incidence of competence and performance in their language of study. It is also to implant in the students the desire and the ability to make use of the Ghanaian Languages of their study in higher intellectual communication without any hint of code-switching or code-mixing. The programmes will equip graduates to enable them produce fundamental scientific, technological and legal textbooks and documents, among other reference material for Ghanaian Languages via the students’ project works, the translation courses and other activities inherent in the programmes.

Entry Requirement:

To be admitted in to the One Year Top-Up programme from M.A. to the M.Phil. Ghanaian Language Studies degree programmes (GLS), the candidate must have obtained an M. A. from the University of Education, Winneba or any recognized university with Ghanaian Language, and has obtained a minimum of 2.5 grade point average.

Candidates are to attend and pass the University’s interview.
