- WASSCE Candidates: Minimum Grade of C6 or better in three core subjects (English Language Core Mathematics, Integrated science or Social Studies and three (3) relevant elective subjects(Accounting, Cost Accounting, Business Management, Economics and Elective Mathematics)
- SSSCE Candidates: Minimum Grade of D or better in three core subjects (English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies and three relevant elective subjects(Accounting, Cost Accounting, Business Management, Economics and Elective Mathematics)
Elective Subjects: BBA (Banking and Finance)
Minimum of grade C6 (WASSCE) or D (SSSCE) in Financial Accounting and any other two courses from the following:
- Cost Accounting
- Business Management
- Economics
- Elective Mathematics
B. Advanced Level and Professional Applicants
Candidates must have passes in at least five (5) subjects at the GCE ordinary level with credit passes in English Language, Integrated Science, Mathematics and at least three (3) passes at the Advanced Level, two (2) of which must be at grades not lower than 'D' in the following subjects: Accounting, Business Management, Costing, Economics, Mathematics/ Statistics.
Candidates with part of Professional Certificates with a minimum of Part 1 or Foundation Stage of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, Chartered Institute of Marketing, Chartered Institute of Bankers, Chartered Institute of Taxation, Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators etc may be considered for admission.
Candidates with Teachers’ Certificate ‘A’ and a pass in English, Mathematics and two business related subjects at the GCE ‘O’ level or Senior High School or GBC or RSAII etc may be considered for admission.
All applicants with Professional certificate should be cleared with NAB and the evaluation report sent to the University.
- Mature Candidates
- Applicants should be at least 25 years at the time of commencements of academic year of admission
- Applicant must pass MATURE entrance examinations in both the Subject Area Test (SAT) and the General Aptitude Test (GAT)
- Post-Diploma and Professional Applicants for admission to level 300
i. HND in any business related programme from a recognised institution with a minimum of Second Class Lower
ii. Any business related diploma from a recognized tertiary institution e.g. Diploma in Business Administration from University of Education, Winneba.
- Any business related certificate that the National Accreditation Board (NAB) certifies to be equivalent to a tertiary diploma.
All candidates with the above qualification should have obtained a 2 year working experience in order to be considered for admission. However, their level of placement may be determined by their performance at the admission interview.
- Fee-paying Applicants: A fee-paying facility is available to applicants who do not meet the competitive selection “cut-offs” but satisfy the minimum University requirements.
- All other certificates and results apart from those issued by WAEC should be cleared with the NAB and the evaluation report submitted to the University.
