Vertical Tabs Programme Description Programme Description The programme is for applicants who intend to be trained as vocational education teachers with specialization in Fashion Design and Textiles. It is designed to equip students with the knowledge and pedagogical skills for teaching Fashion Design and Textiles. Target Group The programme is intended for: SHS Certificate holders Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’/Diploma in Basic Education holders HND holders Mature persons desiring to be trained in Fashion Design and Textiles Mode of study: Regular/Full TimeDepartment: Fashion Design and Textiles Education Entry Requirement Entry Requirement: Entry Requirements A: WASSCE Holders Applicants must have: Credit passes (A1-C6) in English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science Credit pass (A1-C6) in Clothing and Textiles OR Textiles Credit passes (A1-C6) in any two (2) of the following electives: Management in Living, Economics, General Knowledge in Art, Graphic Design, Economics, Leather Work, Sculpture, Ceramics, Painting, and Jewellery B: SSSCE Holders Applicants must have: Credit passes (A-D) in English Language, Core Mathematics and Core Science Credit pass (A-D) in Clothing and Textiles OR Textiles Credit passes (A-D) in any two (2) of the following elective subjects: Management in Living, General Knowledge in Art, Graphic Design, Economics, Leather Work, Sculpture, Economics, Ceramics, Painting, and Jewellery C: Higher National Diploma (HND) Certificate Holders Applicants must: Have HND Certificate (at least a Second Class Lower Division) or its equivalent in Fashion Design and Textiles OR Textiles Have acquired two (2) years post-HND qualification working experience D: Mature Applicants Applicants must: Be at least 25years old and show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth, which is at least 25 years as at August 1 of the academic year one wants to enroll Be a holder of Advanced Fashion Certificate or its equivalent OR Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ OR Diploma in Basic Education OR SHS certificate holders who do not normally qualify as direct applicants Pass a written entrance examination Job Prospects Job Prospects: Job Prospects Job opportunities are in : The Ghana Education Service Private educational institutions Fashion and textiles industries Graduates setting themselves up in their own businesses
