Vertical Tabs Programme Description Programme Description The Bachelor of Science Agriculture Education Programme is basically a general agriculture-centred programme designed to equip students to teach the core subjects in general agriculture and to undertake any practices or services that involve the salient knowledge, skills and attitudes of general agriculture. Target Group The programme is intended for: • SSSCE/WAEC Certificate Holders • Agriculture/Forestry Certificate holders • All who want to train in the field of Agriculture? Mode of study: Regular/Full Time Entry Requirement Entry Requirement: SSSCE/WASSCE Certificate Holders SSSCE Candidates Must have Six (6) credit passes (A-D) comprising three (3) Core Subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science), plus at least a credit pass in Chemistry and A credit pass in any two (2) of the following electives: Physics, Biology, General Agriculture, Animal Husbandry OR Horticulture OR Forestry, Elective Mathematics. WASSCE Candidates Must have Six (6) credit passes (A1-C6) comprising three (3) Core Subjects, including, English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, plus at least a credit (A1-C6) in Chemistry and credit passes in any two (2) of the following electives: Physics, Biology, General Agriculture, Animal Husbandry OR Horticulture OR Forestry, Elective Mathematics C) Mature Applicants Must be at least 25 years by 1st August of year one wants to apply. Must hold: (a) Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ OR (b) SSSCE/WASSCE Certificate OR a Certificate of Professional training from a recognized institution. Must pass the UEW Entrance Examination. D) Diploma Candidates Must possess a Higher National Diploma (at least Second Class Lower) or its equivalent in a relevant subject from a recognized institution. Must pass an interview. E. General Certificate of Education, Advanced Level (GCE “A” Level) Five (5) credit passes at GCE “O” Level including English Language and Mathematics in addition to two (2) “A” Level passes other than General Paper in the following: Physics, Chemistry, Biology OR Agricultural Science, Mathematics.
