Vertical Tabs Programme Description Programme Description The programme is designed to produce competent Arabic language teachers to apply modern methods of teaching the language in schools and colleges. Therefore, emphasis is placed on the development of professional skills and techniques to help students acquire competence in writing and speaking Arabic fluently. Products of the programme are also equipped with the necessary techniques and skills to conduct research in the Arabic language, serve as facilitators in promoting the use of Arabic language as a medium for business interactions and for interpersonal communication. Target Group The programme is intended for the following: SHS certificate holders in Arabic Advanced certificate holders in Arabic Anyone interested in pursuing a profession that requires a high proficiency in Arabic language. Mode of study: Regular/Full TimeDepartment: Educational Leadership Entry Requirement Entry Requirement: ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 1) Direct applicants a) General Requirements: Applicants must have C6 or better in the following; Core English, Core Mathematics, and any one of the following: Social Studies, or Integrated Science. b) Departmental Requirements WASSCE: Applicants with Arabic Language as elective must have grade C6 or better in three electives including Arabic Language GCE ‘A’ LEVEL: Applicants must have grade D or better in three subjects including Arabic language. 2) Mature Applicants: Applicants must be 25 years or more by 1st August and must pass the University Entrance Exams in subject area test in Arabic language and general aptitude test. They must also produce a birth certificate. Note: GCE ‘A’ LEVEL/ WASSCE/SSCE holders without Arabic language shall produce an advance certificate in Arabic language from recognized institution certified by the National Accreditation Board.
