Mawuadem Koku Amedeker hails from Mepe in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region of Ghana. He attended St. Peter's Senior High School, Nkwatia-Kwahu, where he obtained the 'O' and 'A" level Certificates. He proceeded to University of Cape Coast where he obtained the B.Sc.(Ed.) degree in Physics and Mathematics. After teaching for some time in the then Advanced Teacher Training College, Winneba he proceeded on Ghana Government scholarship to University of Manchester, U. K. where he obtained the M. Sc. (Theoretical Physics) degree in Particle Physics. He returned to the newly established University of Education to teach for some years. Later he obtained an Australian Government scholarship to pursue a course in Perth, Western Australia, where he obtained the Ph. D. (Science and Technology) degree. He has been H.O.D. for the Science Education Department, Dean for the Faculty of Science Education and Director for the Directorate of Quality Assurance of the University of Education, Winneba.
