The Department of Home Economics of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has received assorted equipment from the Valco Trust Fund in support of the operations of the department. It was in response to a request made by two lecturers of the department as a result of need to retool the various vocational and technical sections of the department.

A beneficiary of the Vodafone Foundation’s scholarship scheme for girls, Seline Delamo has hailed the telecom company for paying her tuition and other academic expenses following the death of her guardian.
The University of Education, Winneba placed 452nd out 516 Universities in the 2016 UI GreenMetric World Rankings.
The ranking which is done annually aim at comparing universities effort towards sustainability and environmental friendliness in the discharge of their mandates. Out of the total number of 75 countries surveyed, UEW was the only university from Ghana.

In a bid to help execute a nation-wide school language mapping exercise, the Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education of the College of Languages Education, UEW, in partnership with the USAID Ghana Partnership for Education-Learning has held a training workshop from 6th -11th February, 2016.

The University of Education, Winneba, and (UEW) participated in the on-going 10th Ghana Higher Education Fair in Wa, in the Upper West Region of Ghana organised by I-Texon Ghana. The first phase of the fair commenced on the 18th January and ended on 20th January, 2017. It brought together students from about fifteen (15) Second Cycle Institutions in the Upper West Region of Ghana to have interaction with five (5) Tertiary Institutions in the country regarding their academic programmes on offer.
