University Teachers Association Holds Feast for Members

The University Teachers Association of Ghana, UTAG-UEW branch has held its Annual Feast for members at the Forecourt of the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre on Wednesday 22nd February, 2017.

The President of UTAG-UEW, Dr. Samuel Ofori Bekoe, stressed the relevance for holding such events annually. He noted among others that, it serves as a major means of socializing, releasing stress and helping them to feel re-energized for their work. He thanked the Vice-Chancellor and other Management members for their assistance and commitment towards the growth and development of the teaching staff. He seized the occasion to express gratitude to Management, regarding, ongoing projects on the University campus, including the construction of staff bungalow and offices to accommodate teaching staff of the University and enhanced retirement benefits for staff.

The event brought together 290 lecturers of the University and their partners, 5 Administrators and other distinguished personalities from the banking and health sectors. It was characterized by merry making, interactions, dancing and endless live band music.

High profile personalities of the University who joined in the celebration were the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mawutor Avoke, Registrar, Dr. C.Y. Akwaa-Mensah, Finance Officer, Dr. Theophilus Ackorlie, Deans of Faculty, Heads of Department, Deputy Finance Officer, Mr. Frank Owusu-Boateng, Deputy Registrar for the Division of Academic Affairs, Mrs. Wilhelmina Tete-Mensah, Deputy Registrar for the Division of Publications and Communication, Mr. Steve van Kamassah, and Deputy Registrar for the Institute for Educational Research and Innovation Studies, Mr. William Agyei-Bieni.
