ODSA Organises Leadership Training Workshop for Student-Leaders
The Office of Dean of Student Affairs (ODSA) on Wednesday, 6th February, 2019 organised a leadership training workshop for Student-Leaders of Winneba and Ajumako Campuses of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) at the Registrar’s Conference Room, North Campus.
The workshop was aimed at training both Regular and Distance Education Student-Leaders to serve the conventional students better. In an interview with the Dean, ODSA, Dr. Ernest Kwesi Amposah stressed that UEW is a student centered University thus, the need to equip the Student-Leaders to enable them execute their tasks proficiently.

He entreated students of UEW to cooperate and support the Student-Leaders in everything that they did. He also charged Student-Leaders to do things that would address the needs of the students as doing this helps in building up a good University.
Participants were taken through various presentations by several facilitators such as the Dean, Students Affairs, University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Eugene Maafo Darteh; Project Officer, ADEA’s Working Group on Higher Education, Association of African Universities (AAU), Accra, Mr. Kwesi Acquah Sam; Ag. Head, Department of Psychology and Education, Dr. Dandy George Dampson and Dr. Ernest K. Amposah.
The presentations were respectively on the topics “The 21st Century Student-leaders: Obstacles and Opportunities; Global Practices and the Role of a Student-Leader; Branding Yourself as a Student-Leader; and Judicious Spending: Using Student Funds Wisely”.

The participants expressed overwhelming joy to have undergone such training to sharpen their skills and also to enable them discharge their duties diligently.
Another training session would be organised for Student-Leaders in Kumasi and Asante-Mampong Campuses.
