It was expected that participants would return to their home countries to further disseminate their new knowledge and thereby help improve research outputs of researchers and research groups in the institutions of the participants. The University of Education, Winneba Library, had five of its staff being part of the international training programme. Opening the Workshop on the theme “Emerging Technologies for Librarians/Researchers”, the University Librarian, Mr. Viscount Buenortey Buer advised the participants to ensure that they practiced what they learnt, as that was the key to retaining the knowledge and imparting to library users, especially researchers.
Among others, the topics treated included “referencing management with Zotero”, “Google Suite for research”, “Cloud storage and services with Google Drive”, and “Introduction to Research Data Management”. The Workshop was facilitated by Mr. Chris Owusu-Ansah, Mrs. Efua Mansa Ayiah, Mr. Francis Andoh Mensah, Ms. Erica Nutsukpui and Mr. Kwabena Amoako.
