“Take Pride in your Work at UEW”, Acting Principal Encourages COLTEK Staff

The Acting Principal of the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK), Prof. Frederick K. Sarfo has encouraged staff to take exceptional pride in the work they do in the University of Education Winneba (UEW). “No job in this University is ignoble. Whatever each of us does is critical to our survival as a University, so I appeal to you to work with enthusiasm and devotion”, he said.

Prof. Sarfo made this statement during his first meeting with COLTEK staff on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 after his appointment following the sudden demise of his immediate predecessor Prof. Reynolds Okai whose burial and final funeral rites were held last weekend in Koforidua.

He called on staff to unite in pursuit of the common purpose of moving the University forward. This is particularly important since tertiary institutions are currently engulfed in unprecedented competition that required nothing short of hard work to guarantee survival. In that regard, he asked staff to feel free to come to him or other management members with any idea(s) that could help enhance UEW’s progression.

He also took advantage of the meeting to express management’s appreciation to all staff for the various roles they played in ensuring the successful burial and final funeral rites of his predecessor.

The Acting Principal was particularly appreciative of the hundreds of staff who travelled to Koforidua for the ceremony and the unrestrained manner they involved themselves in all activities to ensure that the Late Professor was given a befitting burial. Meanwhile, he urged staff to pay due attention to their health, being careful of what they consume and ensuring that they create an environment that produces peaceful co-existence and oneness.
