UEW to Implement ERP System and IPSAS

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is at the verge of implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system this year. This will automate all the core functions of the University such as planning, finance, admission, assessment, graduation, inventory, hall, asset, sales and human resource management.

The ERP implementation will be done concurrently with the introduction of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) to regulate accounting issues in the University.

Affianaman Honours the Vice-Chancellor of UEW

A Special Durbar has been held at Assin Asempanaye Catholic Church in honour of an industrious son of Affianaman, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

“We Cannot Fail” – Registrar

The Registrar, Surv. Paul Osei-Barima Esq. has stressed that the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has invested huge institutional resources to ensure that staff achieve professionalism in their fields of study therefore, under no circumstance must Administrators fail.

He emphasised that UEW has consistently made continuous professional training and capacity building an integral aspect of staff development in its quest to live up to the expectation of ensuring excellent academic standards in teaching and learning.

University Library and Faculty of Science Education Hold Workshop on Ethical use of Information

The University Library has facilitated a workshop on Ethical use of Information for the faculty members of the Faculty of Science Education as a means of addressing the issue of plagiarism which has been haunting students, lecturers and other members of the University community. The workshop was organised by the Dean of the Faculty of Science Education, Professor Ruby Hanson following a proposal from the University Library. It was attended by 55 members of the Faculty and it was facilitated by the University Librarian, Mr. Viscount B. Buer.

UEW Commissions First Ever Graduate Lounge in Ghana

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Tuesday, 18^th December, 2018 commissioned the first ever Graduate lounge in any public University in Ghana at the Faculty of Social Sciences Education Block Room 405, North Campus, Winneba. The lounge, equipped with computers, Wi-Fi, a 65 inch television set, a fridge, a DSTV, air-conditioners, ceiling fans and furniture was established to intensify the research abilities of the Graduate Students.

Radio Windy Bay Donates to Methodist Rafiki Village

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and in sharing love this festive season, Radio Windy Bay (RWB) on Saturday, 15th December, 2018 donated several items to the Methodist Rafiki Satellite Village at Gyaahadze near Winneba. The items donated included seven mini bags of rice, one maxi bag of sugar, a 25litre cooking oil, ten crates of assorted drinks, dozens of biscuits, and packs of toilet rolls.

Radio Windy Bay Holds Interactive Workshop for Staff and Student Presenters

Management of one of the Radio Stations of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Radio Windy Bay 98.3 MHz FM, on Friday, 14th December, organised an interactive workshop for Staff and Student presenters at South Campus, Winneba.

The workshop, graced by veteran communication personalities such as Dr. Andy Ofori-Birikorang, Mr. Kwesi Aggrey and Mr. Bismark Odum Sackey was to help the Staff and Student presenters unearth and improve the journalistic skills that they possess.

UEW Partners AUCC and TTU

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Tuesday, 11^th December, 2018 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with African University College of Communications (AUCC) and Takoradi Technical University (TTU) at the Council Chamber, North Campus, Winneba.

UEW Donates Farming Equipment to the Effutu Municipal Assembly

The Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Thursday, 6^th December, 2018 donated some farming equipment to the Effutu Municipal Assembly as the University’s contribution towards the 34^th Annual Farmers Day Celebration.

Mr. Francis Teye, a Senior Assistant Registrar and Mr. Samuel S. A. Cromwell, a Senior Accountant, presented the items to the Municipal Chief Executive of the Assembly on behalf of the Management of the University as part of the University’s co-operate social responsibility.

Atekyedo M/A Basic School Benefit from Free Hearing Screening

The Centre for Hearing and Speech Services (CHSS) under the Faculty of Educational Studies has organised a free hearing screening exercise for Atekyedo M/A Basic pupils.

The exercise which serves as part of the University’s social responsibilities to communities in and around Winneba focused on some rural communities since pupils at such vicinities rarely visit CHSS for ear assessment and management.
