INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER / DISCRETE MATHEMATICS

Course description

The course will focus on methods of solving homogeneous and non-homogeneous recurrence relations using generating functions and characteristic equations: digraphs to analyze computer algorithms: graph theory and its ramifications to computer algorithms.

The course cover functions, relations, set theory, and graph theory and their applications in computer science: switching circuits, Boolean algebra, and Karnaugh maps.

VISUAL LITERACY IN EDUCATION

Course description

Visual literacy is defined as the ability to understand and use images, including the ability to think, learn, and express oneself in terms of images. The course will improve students’ visual literacy knowledge. Students will use image manipulation software (Adobe Photoshop) to apply the skills they will learn in the course on selected group projects. This course focuses on using critical thinking skills to interpret the material. This course requires that students actively engage and construct the material.

INTRODUCTION TO OBJECT ORIENTED PROGRAMMING (OOP)

Course description

This course introduces the fundamental concepts of programming from an object-oriented perspective. The course emphasizes modern software engineering and design principles and developing fundamental programming skills in the context of a language that supports the object-oriented paradigm. Various OOP languages will be explored and used to create real-life applications for instructional and/or learning purposes.

EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATION

Course description

Mobile and web 2.0/3.0 technologies are the latest instructional tools for 21st Century learners. Many institutions in the developed parts of the world have already begun migrating from electronic learning (e-learning) to mobile learning (m-learning). E-learning involves the use of electronic services such as those provided by the Internets, computers and allied technologies. 

INTRODUCTION TO CALCULUS

Course Description: 

The course gives the students a sound knowledge of differential and integral calculus with their applications to problems of practical nature. After the course students will be able to study further calculus and subsequently use it as a strong tool to understand and develop the problems which they come across in Technology. 

INTRODUCTION TO DISTANCE EDUCATION AND ONLINE LEARNING

Course Description

In this course, the student will examine the theoretical framework, historical development and practical applications of the distance education movement. Students will explore various modes and media for Distance Education.  Students will also explore various online learning systems and principles in this course. Students will be required to design and develop online teaching and learning materials.

FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATIONAL AND INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGIES

Course description:

This course gives an overview of classic and contemporary theories of learning and their applications in educational technology and emerging orientations and implications for practice. It will also explore foundations, history, perspectives, and literature in the field. The course will enable students to think more critically about their career goals.

About: Quiz Master is a web application for setting up and managing quizzes. This app helps to set up and manage quizzes with ease. ­­ Despite its name, it can also be used to set up an entire examination. It comes with unique features that makes this possible. For instance, the examiner can print both score and answer sheets of all students who took part in the exams and this can serve as a physical evidence of taking part in the exams.

Ajumako community pledges support for developmental projects at the College

The Chiefs and people of the Ajumako traditional area have pledged their support towards the development of the College of Languages Education of the University of Education, Winneba located in their Community. The support included the donation of large tracts of lands to the University, availing themselves to serve on lands committee to resolve all outstanding land disputes in the locality, and assist in bringing in investors to develop the university and the community at large.

DR. ISHMAEL YAW DADSON ELECTED PRESIDENT OF GHANA GEOGRAPHERS ASSOCIATION

The Head of Department of Geography Educaton of the University of Education Winneba, has been elected the President of Ghana Geographers Association (GGA). This came at an election held at Ho Technical University as part of the annual conference of the association. He took over from Prof. Martin Oteng Ababio of the University of Ghana who was the President from August 2015 to 2017. Dr.Dadson until this election, was the Vice President of the association.
