M.Phil programme was also mounted to enable individuals to specialize in the various units of Home Economics, Food and Nutrition, Clothing and Textiles and Family Resource Management to teach in the tertiary level.
The M.Ed Sandwich programme was mounted to enable Home Economics, Fashion and Catering teachers in tertiary institutions to upgrade themselves to qualify to teach at the tertiary level.
The 4-year B.Ed Home Economics Education started in 1992 to meet the national need for teachers with higher academic qualification to teach in Ghanaian schools.
In the 2009/2010 academic year, the University made it a policy for all Departments in the science Faculty to offer B.Sc (Bachelor of Science) Programme. Since the Department of Home Economics Education operates under the Faculty of Science Education, the contents and names of our programmes also changed to conform to the faculty’s requirements.
